These rules of the 9th CCBA PRIZE are published on 15th june 2017 the deadline to apply is 30th october 2017.


A.1- Purpose
The promoter and organizer of CCBA PRIZE is the Milan based cultural association Open Art Milano (OAM).

The CCBA PRIZE 2017 is the 9th edition of this contest which aims to foster creativity and promote the work of emerging and professional artists on the international art scene. The city of Milan will be proud to host the artists coming from all over the world. Fifty artists will be selected by the public and invited to the venue at BASE MILANO.

The jury, composed by curators and art critics, will also select the 3 winners that will be announced for the first time during the event.

A.2- Participation Criteria
CCBA PRIZE is open to all artists of the world without any discrimination.
The competition is open to all categories of arts: Painting, Photography, Sculpture, Video art , Digital art, Graphics.

A.3- How to submit the works
After the registration, the candidate may choose between the following options:

Upload the requested material following the instructions on the website
Send an email to [email protected] with the subject “CCBA PRIZE 2017” accluding: your curriculum vitae (max 2000 characters); your poetic (max 2000 characters); jpg images* of three diferent artworks for the competition (with the technical data sheet of each);
*The jpg images will indicatively have 1920×1080 pixels as minimal size of the shorter side. The maximum size is 3 MB.

The technical data sheet includes: title of the work, technique and materials, size, year of creation.

A.4- Subscription fee
You must register at “Sign Up CCBA” and you will be asked to pay a contribution fee of 50,00 € (not refundable). The registration fee allows the member to propose up to 3 artworks, not more.

The payment allowed are via PAYPAL or Bank Transfer.

A.4- The vote
CCBA Prize is the contemporary art contest where people can vote and promote their favourite artist/s directly. This is the PUBLIC VOTE and it is the first round, in which will be appraised the shortlist composed by fifty artists that will be invited to the venue in Milan on the 2nd of December 2017.

All the artists will be given an equal number of chances to be voted during the course of the preliminary rounds. At the end of the preliminary rounds OAM ,the organizer, will announce the shortlist of 50 artists that have gained the most public votes. The artworks are displayed randomly and on constant rotation on the website.

The vote will remain open from the beginning (June 27th 2017) until the end (november 05th, 2017).

The second round is represented by the JURY ,gallery owners, art critics, editors ,art fair specialist and curators, that will select, among all participants, the three winning artists.

The announcement of the winners will take place on the 2nd of December 2017 during the venue at BASE MILANO.

A.5- The fifty selected artists
The fifty artists who will be classified into the first fifty places will be exhibited in a group show during the venue at BASE MILANO , Milano and for 3 more weeks in the characteristic Milan location ARTPASSAGE ( A certificate of attendance will be awarded to all the exhibiting artists.

A.6- The 3 winners
The winners will be three, decreed by the vote of a jury of professionists in the art world. During the awards ceremony, performed in the prestigious location BASE MILANO in Milan, will be presented to the public the first fifty selected artists and the three winners.

The Open Art Gallery, in the following days, will host a solo exhibition of the winners. These artists will benefit of promotional activities and materials (catalog, opening and press office).

A.9- Exhibitions & deliveries of the artworks
Each artist of the fifty selected will show one artwork at BASE MILANO, at first, and, after, at ARTPASSAGE . The artwork must be in Milan before the 25th november. The artwork will be collected and shipped to and from Milan by the artist at their own expense.

The winners, too, will exhibit just one work at BASE MILANO and, afterwards, at the Open Art Gallery/ARTPASSAGE, will be held the solo show with more artworks (no more than ten).

A.10- The Catalogue
The catalogue will be published and will include each and every artist involved in the contest.

at BASE. Afterwardsit will also be available on line on Artyble.

A.11- Responsabilities
The Cultural Association Open Art Milano, while ensuring the utmost care and custody of the works, disclaims any responsability for any theft, fire or damage to the artworks of any kind that may occur during the event. Any insurance request will be signed by the artist himself. Therefore each artist is responsible for covering transportation (round trip) expenses and any insurance costs for the artworks.

A.12- Privacy
Each applicant expressly authorizes the organizer OAM, as well as its legal representative, to process personal data transmitted pursuant to Law 675/96 (“Privacy Act”), as amended D.lgs.196/2003 (Privacy Code) , also for inclusion in databases managed by such persons. Each entrant grants for free in the organizer OAM as well as its legal representative reproduction rights of works and texts in the competition, with the aim of preparing the catalog, may be published on the website of the premium and other forms of communication, promotion and activities of the organization. The material submitted for entry will not be returned.

The competition organizers OAM will have the right of final decision on all matters not specified in this announcement. The organization reserves the right to make changes to the notice if and when the need arises. Membership and participation in the prize implies the unconditional acceptance of all items of this announcement.
